Seeing as I'm technologically challenged, and haven't been able to embed this video here for viewing, I'll just provide the proper youtube link! This clip is of a game called Dark Souls and in complete honesty only the first 30 seconds or so is relevant to my staircases concept. You'll see that you travel down a staircase which seems to be floating in the air in a white void, I tried to recreate this idea of a stair which floats and allows the viewer to see a great expanse before them in my model. So following on from that enjoy the video by WikiGameGuides. (The stair is right at the start but it's a cool game so i recommend watching the whole video)
